Grampa's Zoo Books

Learn About Backyard Texas Wildlife with Grampa!

How it started

The Grampa of Grampa's Zoo is Emile Olivier, an 87-year-old man who lives in San Antonio, Texas. As a grandfather to 14 kids, and a great-grandfather to 18 even younger kids, Emile is an interesting story-teller. His love for all animals is well-known to his family, and he now shares those same stories with you!

What is Grampa's Zoo?

Grampa's home in Texas backs up to a large ranch that has cattle, deer, coyotes, feral hogs, bobcats, foxes, coatimundis, porcupines, skunks, raccoons, armadillos, rabbits, owls, wild turkeys, hawks, a large variety of birds and many more Texas wildlife animals.

Grampa's yard, which is Grampa's Zoo, is the site for many animal visitors, who come to enjoy the fresh food and water he replenishes every day. In the daytime, his yard is full of many kinds of birds who visit his bird feeders, enjoy a splash in the water containers, and interact with the winged community. At nighttime, all the nocturnal animals come for their dinner, a nice drink of water, a visit with their neighborhood friends, and playtime for their kids with the other animals. A night vision camera helps to capture all the action in Grampa's Zoo! The Zoo is in Texas, but many of the same animals can be found in other states, and even in Canada.

Grampa's Goal

Grampa would like to introduce local Texas wildlife to kids of all ages. He writes these children's bookls in the voice of the animal itself, telling children facts about its life, family, traits and habits. Helping to create an appreciation of the wildlife which surrounds us, and creating wonder and enjoyment of God's creations, will make Grampa very happy.

These educational and entertaining bookls are perfect for both Christian schools and homeschools, and for children ages 4+. With an easy-to-read format for both parents and young readers, your child is sure to enjoy the adventures of all the animals at Gramp's Zoo.
